Georges Dumas is a self-taught visual Artist who has been creating mixed media works called paintographies for the past fifteen years. These are paintings, generally on canvas, which combine photography, digital composition, and acrylic glazes, each time unique pieces. The human figure is the almost exclusive subject of these works, with an important place given to the nude and the draped figure, in line with the statuary of Antiquity and the Renaissance. The crossing of techniques and the importance given to mineral materials that replace the flesh of the models make the paintographies unclassifiable works, at once classical and contemporary, familiar and strange, on the borders of painting, sculpture, and photography, in an aesthetic of freeze-frame and petrification that justifies the term "virtual sculpture. Since his first exhibition in 2007, Georges Dumas has presented his work in more than sixty events (salons, fairs, cultural centers, solo and group exhibitions) in France and Europe. He co-founded the plastic photography movement Transfiguring in 2014, he regularly writes texts about other artists and released his first monograph, "Corps du Temps", in 2021 published by Corridor Éléphant.
